How to Measure

You can measure your favorite garment for perfect length or take your measurements.

HSP - The HPS is where your shoulder seam would meet your neck. The point is situated where your neck meets your shoulder.

Measure your best fit garment:

Sleeve length - ( 1/2*M+F+H) 

Garment length - G ( from HSP to the bottom edge) 

Neck width - M ( from seam to seam or edge to edge)

Armhole length - I ( straight line from shoulder seam to side seam)

Front neck drop - M1 ( from HSP to neck seam) 

Chest width - A ( straight line from 

When measuring for a pair of pants, DO NOT measure a ‘good fitting pair of jeans’ - this will NOT lead to accurate measurements and your pants will likely not fit correctly. 

Before we start with the measuring, lay down the pants on a flat hard surface and smooth out any wrinkles.

 

1. Waist width. For measuring the waist first button the pants up. Measure straight from side seam to side seam.

2. Hip width. Measure across the hip area, this is in most cases 1 1/2 inches below the zipper or 3" up from crotch seam.

3. Inseam. Having the pants buttoned up, spread the pants on a surface flat. Now measure the inseam from the crotch, at the spot where the front and back seams meet, to the bottom edge.

4. Outseam. With the pants buttoned up, spread the pants on a table, floor or any other flat surface, with outseams on both corners. Measure the length from the top of the waistband to the bottom edge.

5. Thigh width. Measure 1" below crotch seam.

6. Leg opening. Now in the last step follow the same pattern as the previous steps, which is spread the pants on a flat surface e.g. table or floor. After removing any fullness or wrinkles, start measurement beginning from one side of the leg opening to the other side of the leg opening.

7. Front rise. With the pants buttoned up, spread the pants on the floor or table; next remove all wrinkles, and measure this region by starting from crotch seam to the waistband edge.

8. Back rise. With the pants buttoned up, spread the pants on the floor or table; next remove all wrinkles, and measure this region by starting from crotch seam to the waistband edge at the back.

It is easiest to measure the inseam based on a well-fitting pair of pants. Measure from the crotch to the cuff on the inside seam of the leg.
